Engineering Kit Teacher Curriculum Guide: K-2 Students

Engineering Materials Kit: K-2 Students Grades: K-2 Number of Students: N/A   Highlights: The Ozobot Engineering Teacher Curriculum is a complete guide designed to empower educators with ready-to-use, standards-aligned lesson plans that integrate science, math, engineering, nonfiction writing, and career exploration. With step-by-step instruction, student activity sheets, pacing guides, and extension ideas, this curriculum transforms the Ozobot Engineering Kit into a powerful tool for building engineering mindsets in grades K–2. Every lesson is anchored in a real-world scientific phenomenon and built around the Engineering Design Process—Ask, Imagine, Plan, Create, Test & Improve, Share—so students learn not only what to build, but how to think like engineers. Why Engineering Matters in Elementary The early years are critical for helping students see themselves as creators, problem-solvers, and innovators. With the Engineering Curriculum: Students learn to tackle challenges with confidence and approach mistakes as part of the process. Collaboration, iteration, and reflection become everyday habits. All learners gain equitable access to STEM pathways and see themselves in future careers. Unlike other STEM tools, Ozobot Evo becomes an interactive model in every lesson. Students design solutions and then code their bots to test, simulate, or demonstrate their ideas—whether modeling natural disasters, exploring ecosystems, or designing traffic systems. Because Ozobot supports two ways to code—screen-free with Color Codes or on-screen with the Ozobot Editor (Blockly)—students of all programming levels can jump in. The focus is coding with purpose: using programming to solve real-world problems, not just learning syntax. What's Included: 30+ complete lesson plans aligned to NGSS and grounded in authentic phenomena Student Design Sheets and Activity Sheets for hands-on building, coding, and reflection Curriculum pacing guide for long-term planning across K–2 grade levels Career connections that link classroom challenges to real-world engineering roles Differentiation strategies and optional extension ideas to meet all learners’ needs Materials lists and prep steps for smooth classroom implementation
