When you get your hearing aid, ask your doctor which color corresponds to the correct hearing aid battery. Below is the color code and battery type chart. Hearing Aid Battery Care Tips The less time you spend changing batteries, the more you can spend enjoying life. Get the most out of your hearing aid batteries with these helpful tips from the company that really knows ears: Wait 1 minute after removing the tab of your hearing aid battery to allow air to fully power the battery before inserting it into your hearing aid device. Make sure you are sitting down with your battery pack and a pair of scissors, ideally over a table. Carefully use the scissors to cut and open the pack and access the hearing aid batteries one by one. Think of this as like cutting a slice of a pie. Do not remove the tab on your zinc air battery until you are ready to use it. Replacing the tab when the battery is not in use will not extend the life of the battery. Store extra batteries at room temperature, not in the refrigerator or freezer. Don’t carry loose batteries in your purse or pocket — contact with coins or keys can short-circuit batteries. Open the door on your hearing aid device when not in use to avoid moisture build-up that could impact battery life. Be sure to store any loose batteries safely and out of reach of children.
