Enchanted Rock State Park Patch

Folklore and legend are deeply embedded in the history of Enchanted Rock. The oral history of ancient tribes describe the spirits of warriors, princesses, and chieftain all haunting the fabled slopes. Their cries and moans echoing through the scrub brush in midnight hours. If your soul is brave and your intentions are true, these spirits may just allow you safe passage. But… If you’re unsure of yourself, you might just have to trust that the shrieks are the byproduct of differential thermal expansion and contraction of various mineral constituents due to the large diurnal temperature gradient. Legend aside, the land is enchanted with breathtaking views and wildflower blooms worthy of an oil painting. Hit the trails, and see the view of Central Texas from the top of this massive pink granite mountain.
