Enchanted Grimoire

Enchanted Grimoire smells like dragon's blood, vetiver, tangles roots ---------- Whispers In The Ruins The grimoire lay heavy in my hands, cold as river stone and older than the dirt beneath it.  Its cover shimmered like wet emerald, runes slithering beneath the surface in silver spirals. Flecks of vetiver and old ash clung to its spine, as if it had been pulled from the heart of something burned and buried.  I undid the clasp. The pages opened with a sigh. I poured the dragon’s blood into the crease. The grimoire swallowed it as if it had been starved for a millennia. Its leather pulsed once, like a heartbeat. Then it rose into the air. Pages began to turn violently, faster and faster, until they blurred into light. The runes along its spine lit with silent fire. Wind surged around me, tearing through the trees. The mist recoiled as if afraid. Sparks rained from the spinning pages like embers.  The stone circle groaned awake around me. Ancient monoliths curved inward like the ribs of something long dead, cloaked in moss and carved with runes so worn they looked like claw marks. Tangled roots pushed up from the forest floor, curling between the stones like they were listening. A glowing sigil bloomed above the grimoire, drawn in threads of gold and storm-violet, pulsing with heat. The book pulsed again, louder this time, as if echoing through the bones of the earth.  A rush of cold air spiraled upward, and from the heart of the book, spirits burst forth like smoke made solid. They shot into the air around me, circling the stone circle like streaks of silver flame. Some wept. Others whispered. A few turned their hollow eyes toward me and opened mouths that did not move. They weren’t visions. They were watchers. Witnesses. The forest trembled. Then I heard it. Inside my mind. Deep and cold. Like a voice echoing up from a well with no bottom. “Speak your name.
