Enamel Turquoise Shield Earrings

A bold, lightweight statement rooted in ancient strength I’ve always been drawn to the symbol of the shield, not as something to hide behind, but as a representation of our own inner resilience and protection. I designed these earrings to feel like a modern piece of armor. They have a wonderful, rounded profile and a textured surface that allows the warmth of the underlying copper to come through the turquoise glass. While they have a large, striking presence, they are remarkably light, so you get that "statement" look without the heavy pull on your ears. At their generous size, these earrings offer a wonderful sense of movement. They have a playful, rhythmic dangle that follows your lead. They are for the woman who wants her jewelry to feel as strong and unique as she is. The Pure Whimsy Difference The magic of these earrings is in the layering. I start with a copper base, applying a rich turquoise vitreous enamel that I fire in my kiln at 1,500°F.  Because I work in small batches, these earrings are part of a limited run. And because they are fully handmade, no two pairs will ever be exactly alike. This process creates a "lived-in" rustic or vintage feel that mass-produced jewelry can't replicate. Meaning and Wearability The shield is a timeless symbol of courage and the boundaries we set to protect our peace. By pairing that strength with the calming, protective energy of the turquoise color, I’ve created a piece that feels both powerful and grounding. I’ve focused on ensuring the "swing" is just right and the weight is minimal. They are sturdy enough for your daily adventures but have a sophisticated, artisan finish that instantly elevates a simple white linen shirt or a dark sweater. Why You’ll Love Them Authentic Artisan Statement: Hand-fabricated in limited supply in my studio. This is "bench-made" jewelry designed for the woman who values handcrafted artistry.
