Empire Boulevard 60" See-Through Linear Vent-Free Fireplace

The Empire Boulevard VFLB60SP90N is a 60-inch see-through vent-free linear fireplace that does something most fireplaces simply cannot: it burns on both sides simultaneously, without a chimney, at 99% efficiency. That nearly-perfect efficiency rating isn't marketing math — it's a direct result of the vent-free design returning virtually all combustion heat into the living space rather than sending it up a flue. The viewing area spans 59 7/8" wide by 11 7/8" tall, presenting a long, low flame portrait that reads as intentionally architectural. The overall unit measures 66 3/16" wide by 41 1/2" tall by 11 3/4" deep and weighs 260 lbs, so plan your framing and support accordingly — this is a serious installation. Heat output is adjustable between 27,000 and 40,000 BTU/hr via the included thermostat variable remote control, which pairs with the intermittent pilot electronic ignition system. Battery backup capability means a power outage won't leave you staring at a cold wall of glass. Integrated LED lighting adds ambiance independent of flame operation — useful when you want the visual effect without the heat output on a milder evening. Installation flexibility is a genuine strength of this model. On an interior wall it functions as a conventional see-through room divider, with flame visible from both sides. On an exterior wall it becomes an indoor/outdoor see-through unit, bringing fire to an outdoor entertaining space while simultaneously warming the room inside — that configuration requires the separately sold DFEV60SS stainless steel outdoor kit. Either way, the unit is CSA Certified, UL Listed, and meets ANSI Z21.11.2 standards. A fine mesh barrier screen ships as standard equipment. Crushed decorative glass (5 sq. ft.) is required for installation and sold separately, as are ceramic fiber log sets, reflective liners, beveled frames, and additional glass media options. Only Empire log sets made specifically for this fireplace should be used — compatibility matters here, and substituting an unspecified log set is not supported. Natural gas supply requirements: 7.0 to 10.5 inches water column supply pressure, 3.5 inches water column manifold pressure, #32 orifice, 1/16" air shutter opening. Confirm your gas line capacity before scheduling installation. At $6,109, the Boulevard 60" see-through occupies the intersection of architectural statement and practical heating appliance — a combination that's harder to achieve than it looks, and considerably harder to achieve at 99% efficiency. 59 7/8" wide viewing area — long, low flame profile designed for linear architectural applications True see-through design: dual-sided flame view from a single unit, no chimney required 40,000 BTU/hr maximum output, adjustable down to 27,000 BTU/hr via thermostat remote 99% efficiency — vent-free design returns virtually all combustion heat to the living space Intermittent pilot electronic ignition with battery backup capability Thermostat variable remote control included as standard Integrated LED lighting operates independently of flame Interior wall installation: see-through room divider configuration Exterior wall installation: indoor/outdoor see-through (requires optional DFEV60SS stainless outdoor kit, sold separately) Fine mesh barrier screen included; 5 sq. ft. crushed decorative glass required (sold separately) Compatible with Empire log sets made specifically for this fireplace model CSA Certified, UL Listed, ANSI Z21.11.2 compliant Overall dimensions: 66 3/16" W × 41 1/2" H × 11 3/4" D; 260 lbs Model VFLB60SP90N Product Type See-Through Linear Vent-Free Fireplace Fuel Type Natural Gas Maximum Btu Input 40,000 BTU/HR Minimum Btu Input 27,000 BTU/HR Overall Width 66 3/16 inches Overall Height 41 1/2 inches Overall Depth 11 3/4 inches Viewing Width 59 7/8 inches Viewing Height 11 7/8 inches Weight 260 lbs Orifice #32 Air Shutter Opening 1/16 inch Gas Supply Pressure - Maximum 10.5 inches water column Gas Supply Pressure - Minimum 7.0 inches water column Manifold Pressure 3.5 inches water column Ignition System Intermittent Pilot Control Type IP Electronic Ignition with Thermostat Remote Features LED Lighting, Thermostat Variable Remote Control, Battery backup capability Barrier Fine mesh barrier screen (standard), Crushed decorative glass required (5 sq. ft.)
