Emilymetalskin is an artist, art model, and purveyor of all things curious and creative. I love collaborating and drawing Emily because she’s not afraid of being herself or exploring a new, interesting persona for fun. Oftentimes, Emily will create her own costumes and props for drawing sessions to encourage us to bring our full creative selves to the table. In this session, Emily made a shark out of cardboard to prop behind her. It was easy to imagine Emily diving into the deep sea, bravely exploring the unknown despite the potential unknowns lurking nearby. I saw it as a metaphor for choosing to live in these exhausting times: where are the sharks hiding in your life? Artwork size: 9 x 12 in.
