Planting: Choose a location that receives at least 4-6 hours of sunlight daily. Prepare the soil by loosening it and adding organic matter, such as compost or well-rotted manure, to ensure drainage and nourishment. Dig a hole that’s twice as wide as the root ball of the rose, place the plant in the hole with the graft union at soil level, and backfill with soil. 2. Watering: Regular watering is essential, especially during dry spells. Aim to water deeply at the base of the plant rather than from above to prevent fungal diseases. Mulching with organic materials can help retain moisture in the soil and regulate temperature. 3. Pruning: Early spring is the ideal time for pruning your Emily Brontë™ Rose. Remove any dead or damaged wood and trim back the previous year’s growth by about one-third to encourage new growth and maintain a well-structured bush. Pruning will enhance air circulation and promote flowering. 4. Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring and again in mid-summer with a balanced rose food. Look for a slow-release formula that provides necessary nutrients without over-fertilizing, which can lead to excessive foliage at the expense of bloom production.
