Emerald Green Arborvitae – #1 Evergreen Privacy Hedge & Windbreak

Emerald Green Arborvitae – America's Most Popular Privacy HedgeThere's a reason the Emerald Green Arborvitae is planted in more yards across North America than almost any other evergreen. It's dense, it's beautiful, it stays a rich emerald green through every season — and it just works. Whether you're lining a property edge, screening a fence, or creating a windbreak across an open yard, this is the tree that delivers exactly what it promises: reliable, low-maintenance privacy that looks great year after year. Why Emerald Green Arborvitae Is the Go-To Privacy Hedge Naturally Dense & Conical: Forms a tight, symmetrical cone without pruning — no shearing required to maintain its classic shape. Rich Emerald Color Year-Round: Unlike some arborvitae that bronze in winter, Emerald Green holds its vibrant color through cold weather, keeping your landscape looking sharp in every season. Moderate Growth Rate: Grows 6–9 inches per year, reaching a mature height of 10–15 ft. — fast enough to establish privacy, slow enough to stay manageable. Compact Footprint: Stays just 3–4 ft. wide at maturity, making it ideal for tight spaces, narrow side yards, and close-to-structure plantings. Cold Hardy: Thrives in USDA Zones 3–8 — one of the most cold-tolerant arborvitae varieties available. Wildlife Friendly: Dense branching provides excellent nesting and shelter habitat for songbirds.
