Emerald Carpet Manzanita

Enhance the beauty of your home's landscape with the stunning addition of Arctostaphylos ‘Emerald Carpet’. This lush and resilient Carpet Manzanita boasts vibrant, glossy green foliage on red stems with exfoliating bark that grows 3-6 feet wide. A waterwise alternative in areas with no foot-traffic, this ground cover uses less water than the traditional lawn, and still looks luxurious. Perfect for California homeowners seeking a touch of verdant elegance in their outdoor space. Manzanita ‘Emerald Carpet’, a California native shrub, is a naturally occurring hybrid of A. uva-ursi and A. nummularia. This dense, prostrate plant forms tight mounds of shiny dark green leaves on reddish stems. Flowering is sparse on this lovely ground cover. Small, white flowers may appear in late winter or early spring. Perfect for slopes, erosion control, or large area ground cover that will not get trampled upon. ‘Emerald Carpet’ tolerates coastal conditions but performs best in acidic soils. May need occasional summer irrigation in Southern California gardens. Best in coastal areas with cool summers, but can be grown in hotter, inland gardens if given partial shade, especially during the hot afternoons. This low-maintenance, low-growing, evergreen shrub is sure to impress guests and passersby alike. Elevate your curb appeal with Arctostaphylos ‘Emerald Carpet’ today!
