Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Batch A122 120.8 Proof 750ml

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Batch A122 is a January 2022 release from Heaven Hill Distillery, bottled at 120.8 proof (60.4% ABV) uncut and straight from the barrel without chill filtration. One of the more approachable proofs in the ECBP lineup, Batch A122 delivers the full depth and complexity of a minimum 12 year aged Kentucky straight bourbon while being marginally more accessible neat than some of the higher proof batches in the series. The Elijah Craig Barrel Proof program is released three times a year and has earned a devoted following for its consistent quality, generous age statement, and exceptional value relative to comparable barrel proof offerings. Batch A122 carries the classic profile of rich caramel, dark cherry, toasted oak, and warming baking spice that defines the series at its best, with the added confidence and integration that only comes from over a decade in charred American oak. Uncut, unfiltered, and outstanding. Elijah Craig Barrel Proof uses a batch code where the letter indicates the release within the year and the number indicates the year. A122 means January (A = first release) 2022. The three annual releases are A (January), B (May), and C (September). How does Batch A122 compare to other ECBP batches? At 120.8 proof, A122 is on the lower end of the ECBP proof range, which tends to run from the low 120s to the mid 130s depending on the batch. Lower proof batches are often praised for being more approachable neat while retaining the full 12-year complexity. We also carry Batch A121 in store for comparison. How is Elijah Craig Barrel Proof different from standard Elijah Craig Small Batch? Standard Elijah Craig Small Batch is bottled at 94 proof and is a consistent everyday expression. Elijah Craig Barrel Proof is bottled uncut and unfiltered at full barrel strength, minimum 12 years old, with each batch varying in proof and character. It is one of the best value barrel proof bourbons available at any price point. Should I add water to Elijah Craig Barrel Proof A122? At 120.8 proof this is approachable neat for experienced bourbon drinkers, but a few drops of water will open up the fruit and caramel notes beautifully. The 12-year age statement means the oak tannins provide a natural softness even at full barrel proof. Where can I buy Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Batch A122 online?
