Elijah Craig 18 Year Bourbon Whiskey

Elijah Craig 18 Year Old stands as a refined landmark in American bourbon, representing nearly two decades of barrel maturation. It offers a complex symphony of deep oak, rich caramel and subtle fruit tones—crafted for the contemplative sipper and serious collector alike. Origins & Craftsmanship Distilled by Heaven Hill Distillery in Kentucky, this expression is drawn from a single-barrel (not blended barrels) filled and aged for at least 18 years. Bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV), each bottle represents the contents of one hand-selected barrel that met the master distiller’s high standards for flavor, balance and maturity. The bourbon is part of the Elijah Craig family, named in honour of the Reverend Elijah Craig, often credited with pioneering char-oak barrel ageing. Tasting Profile Nose: Warm and inviting—notes of vanilla cream, caramelised sugar and toasted oak surface immediately, supported by hints of orchard-fruit (pear or red apple peel) and subtle leather or tobacco leaf. Palate: Smooth and richly textured for its proof. Flavours of honeyed malt, dark chocolate, dried cherry or raisin, and charred oak combine gracefully. A spice element—cinnamon or white pepper—adds depth without harshness. Finish: Long and satisfying—a lingering echo of oak tannin, soft caramel lingering, dark fruit kernel and mellow baking spice carry through the finish, leaving a warm, dry-wood impression.
