Elevate Shelf D

The Woud Elevate shelf D - Oak brings that modular, build-it-yourself approach to storage but actually makes it elegant instead of looking like adult Legos. Designers Camilla Akersveen and Christopher Konings figured out how to create a shelving system that requires zero tools - you literally just stack oak shelves and twist metal dowels to lock everything in place. What's smart about the proportions is how the individual D-sized shelves work whether you're building something massive or just need a simple two-tier setup. The matt lacquered oak finish has this warm, natural quality that works in both modern apartments and more traditional spaces without trying too hard to be trendy. Each shelf handles up to 15kg, which covers most of what you'd actually put on shelving - books, plants, storage boxes, decorative objects. The genius is in how the elements come boxed separately so you can start small and expand later, or configure exactly what you need rather than settling for predetermined sizes that never quite work for your space. The metal dowels create this industrial contrast against the oak that keeps it from looking too precious or rustic. Assembly takes minutes rather than hours, and if you move or want to reconfigure, everything comes apart just as easily as it goes together. Woud operates with this Norwegian design sensibility where functionality should feel effortless rather than complicated. Founded by Mia and Torben Koed after 30 years in the design industry, they focus on working with emerging talent like Akersveen and Konings who understand that good design solves real problems rather than just looking impressive. The brand approaches furniture with this practical creativity that reflects Scandinavian values - things should work well, last long, and adapt to how people actually live rather than forcing them to adapt to the furniture.
