Elevate Bottom D - 2 pcs

The Woud Elevate Bottom D brings that satisfying engineering simplicity where two wooden dowels become the foundation for building whatever shelving configuration makes sense for your space. Designed by the Norwegian duo Camilla Akersveen and Christopher Konings, this system throws out the instruction manual and Allen keys in favor of something more intuitive - just stack the oak veneer shelves and twist the solid oak dowels until everything feels solid. The "D" designation refers to the specific height and threading of these particular dowels, which lift your shelves off the ground and create that floating effect that makes even practical storage look intentional and sophisticated. What makes this modular approach actually work is how the white pigmented lacquered oak finish keeps everything looking cohesive even as you add and rearrange components over time. Each shelf can handle up to 15kg, which is plenty for books, plants, office supplies, or whatever tends to accumulate in your space. The tool-free assembly means you can reconfigure things seasonally or when you move, and the individual boxing of components lets you buy exactly what you need rather than committing to some predetermined bookshelf configuration. The solid oak and metal construction feels substantial enough that you're not worried about wobbling or gradual loosening over months of daily use. Woud operates with this Nordic design philosophy where good furniture should adapt to how people actually live rather than forcing them to adapt their habits. Their collaboration with Akersveen and Konings reflects this commitment to creating modular systems that grow and change with your needs while maintaining that clean Scandinavian aesthetic. The brand focuses on honest materials and straightforward functionality, ensuring their pieces become integral parts of daily life rather than just looking good for photos and then proving impractical for real-world use.
