Electronic Wastegate

Downloads  FT Dual Power Driver Manual Take your turbocharger to the next level with Turbosmart's electronic external wastegate. While traditional pneumatic wastegates rely on mechanical springs and pressure differentials or CO2, electronic wastegates are controlled by you ECU, allowing you to manage boost levels with exceptional accuracy. By electronically adjusting the wastegate's position, these systems can optimize turbocharger performance in real-time, delivering improved throttle response, enhanced power delivery, and more efficient engine operation. Say goodbye to minimum boost levels and enjoy customizable settings and seamless integration with your engine management system. If you are running a FuelTech ECU, easily adjust boost levels from your laptop with our FTManager software or through your FuelTech ECU's touchscreen display for unparalleled control of your turbocharged engine.    Choose from 3 Turbosmart Electronic Wastegates HYPERGATE45: Turbosmart’s Patent Pending, eWG45 is a fully electronic actuated 45mm wastegate – Built on the successful, class-leading GenV HyperGate45 architecture, now with the kind of control never seen before. The eWG45 HyperGate45 is a 45mm Electronic External Wastegate that uses full electronic control without the limitations associated with traditional pneumatic control. Starting with a Turbosmart’s GenV wastegate body, you can be confident the mounting orientation will match your existing manifold and outlet hardware. The GenV Hypergate45 already had class-leading flow capacity and heat handling characteristics. Now featuring the Turbosmart Patent Pending eWG actuator system, you can also be sure of unparalleled control. The eGate range requires a Dual Half-Bridge input for control, much like how an electronic throttle body is controlled and the strategy is as good as your imagination and your ECU or controller will allow.  STRAIGHTGATE50: The StraightGate50 from Turbosmart is the Award Winning, World’s first butterfly style, Electronic external wastegate! The StraightGate50 is a zero-offset butterfly style wastegate which allows enormous flow and almost linear control with unparalleled boost control throughout the entire operating range. Turbosmart’s eSG50 Electronic StraightGate is a Patent Pending, Multiple Award Winning World First Electronically Actuated Butterfly Style External Wastegate. No reference hoses, no springs and no diaphragms means full electronic control via a servo motor and Turbosmart’s zero-backdrive gearbox which results in lower current demands as well as operation stability against huge drive pressures. The eSG50 includes onboard sensors covering actuator temperature as well as valve position in both analog and digital. The Electronic actuation results in the widest possible tuning window from zero boost (if manifold priority allows for it) to all available boost. The Turbosmart StraightGate50 has been designed from the ground up & validated in-house to create a new level of control and flow, never seen in any wastegate before it. The zero-offset butterfly valve is subjected to exhaust drive pressure equally on both halves of the valve which pivots centrally, resulting in a valve that is self-balanced against any drive pressure. This self-balancing means less work is required to actuate against even the highest of drive pressures and a wider tuning window is possible, no matter how the valve is actuated. The increased flow is achieved through the efficiency of a straight through valve versus a traditional poppet style valve where the exhaust gas must be turned 90 degrees by the valve. POWERGATE60: Turbosmart’s Patent Pending, eWG60 is a fully electronic actuated wastegate – Built on the successful, class-leading GenV PowerGate60 architecture, now with the kind of control never seen before. The eWG60 PowerGate60 is a 60mm Electronic External Wastegate that uses full electronic control without the limitations associated with traditional pneumatic control. Starting with a Turbosmart’s GenV wastegate body, you can be confident the mounting orientation will match your existing manifold and outlet hardware. The GenV PowerGate60 already had class-leading flow capacity and heat handling characteristics. Now featuring the Turbosmart Patent Pending eWG actuator system, you can also be sure of unparalleled control.   The eGate range requires a Dual Half-Bridge input for control. SPECIFICATIONS The new eWastegates are a direct fit upgrade to all 4th-generation Turbosmart wastegates and feature TurboSmart unique collar-locking system, variable motor cap and base, strap-type V-band clamps, liquid-cooling, 1/8″ NPT ports. Control: With the introduction of the electronic motor to drive the eWastegate, a new level of control is now available to boost control, there is a wide range of tuning strategies that can be implemented to better control boost as well as engine protection. This allows the Engine to maintain much better control with the turbo boost strategies. Adjustability: The 5th generation eWastegate range has been designed with maximum user-adjustability, without comprising performance. TurboSmart designed this unit with almost infinite possibilities of directions in which the motor assembly can be mounted with the engine bay. So, if you need the eWastegate mounted in the opposite orientation to stop fouling with parts within the engine bay, there is an orientation that is suitable for the eWastegate to operate in. This mixed without the need of having to remove and reassemble due to changes in base wastegate spring pressure the eWastegate has next level control adjustability of the position of the wastegate valve. Upgrades and Servicing: Due to the modular construction, the new range is also upgradeable and completely serviceable by TurboSmart, as all components can be removed or upgraded. Components have been tested for over one million cycles so reliability will be rock-solid. Flow and Thermal Performance: Our new range of wastegates out-flow all competitors thanks to our world-leading engineering and simulation abilities. Thermal performance has been improved drastically compared to competitors, and all wastegates feature liquid cooling ports for further thermal performance if required   WIRING     FEATURES Class Leading, CFD & Bench Validated Flow Performance Nitronic 60 Valve Guide & High Temp 347 SS Body Liquid Cooled, Electronic Actuator Strap Type V-band clamps User Adjustable Actuator Position Onboard Analog 0-5V Wastegate Position Sensor Onboard Analog 0-5V Actuator Temperature Sensor Size 1/8NPT DATA SHEET FAQ   Will an eWG fit my existing manifold? Yes. The Turbosmart eWG range works with the modular housings of the Gen-V products, so wherever your Turbosmart Gen-V products are fitted, the eWG will bolt on as they use the same mounting & flange orientation. The Actuator housings of the new eWG range are different though, so you’ll need to make sure there is room for the new design in your engine bay. How fast is the eWG range? 72mm per second – Full travel can be achieved in 290ms. Fast. What spring options does the eWG range have? Just the one option: None. The Turbosmart eWG is fully adjustable without the need for springs. It can actuate boost against extreme levels of back pressure and does so without any springs. Nothing to change, ever. It also features a special ‘zero-back-drive’ to reduce power consumption. Can I use an eWG instead of my Compressed Gas (co2) setup? Yes you can – In fact, it’s one of the situations that the eWG would be ideal for. You will not need the external compressed gas tank, the lines or the solenoid – You just need the eWG. What do I need to control it? A FuelTech FT500/FT550/FT550LITE/FT600 PowerFT ECU, one FT Dual Power Driver, a spare input and two yellow outputs to make it work. The FuelTech ECU allows for auto-calibration and closed loop boost control, easy-peasy. Can I rotate the top housing? Yes. The modular design of the GenV Range of External Wastegates means you can rotate the actuator housing 360 degrees, for virtually unlimited orientation.   GENERAL FEATURES  There are no springs, no hoses and no boost reference signal, nor any of the limitations associated with any of them. Gone are ‘Minimum’ boost levels associated with base spring pressure or the heat related issues with hoses. If your manifold priority is good enough, you can set your boost anywhere from zero up to ‘All of it’ – All from your laptop or ECU touchscreen display.   REQUIREMENTS: HYPERGATE45: Inlet Pipe Suits 47.63mm/1.875” OD Outlet Pipe Suits 44.45mm/1.75” OD Water Port: Tube Min.
