Electro-Harmonix Spruce Goose Overdrive

The Spruce Goose reinvents a beloved Bluesbreaker-style overdrive for today’s players with clarity, versatility, and expressive control in a compact pedalboard-ready package. Inspired by the classic 60s Marshall Bluesbreaker circuit but enhanced with modern features, this pedal delivers smooth, rich breakup that retains dynamic feel and amp-like responsiveness — from slight grit to singing lead tones. At the heart of the Spruce Goose is a 3-position LIFT switch that boosts your input signal before it hits the drive circuit, giving you three distinct gain levels — from transparent low gain to punchy saturation and compression — letting you tailor your drive to a wide range of styles and pickup types. An intuitive Gain, Volume, Bass, and Treble control layout gives you precise command over your tone’s drive character and EQ balance, while the active Bass knob adds girth and tightening to your low end depending on pickup and amp choice. True bypass switching with selectable latching or momentary footswitch action gives flexible performance options — hold the switch for a burst of extra drive and presence when solos or dynamics demand it. The Spruce Goose responds beautifully with single-coil chime, fuller humbucker warmth, and everything in between, making it a go-to overdrive for blues, rock, country, and expressive lead work at an accessible price point.
