Elderberry, Black Lace #3

Black Lace Elderberry Sambucus nigra A remarkable advancement in elderberry breeding is Black Lace. It has finely cut, intensely purple-black leaf that has a Japanese maple-like appearance. In spring, cream-colored blossoms make a striking contrast to the dark foliage. Fall berries, which are a dark red color, follow them. These berries can be picked to make elderberry wine and jam, or they can be left on the plant to draw birds and other wildlife.
