El Dorado Versailles 2009 Single Still Rum

El Dorado Versailles Single Still Rum is a rare gem from one of the world’s most iconic wooden pot stills, Guyana’s Versailles Single Wooden Vat Still, the last of its kind. Crafted at Demerara Distillers and aged in ex-bourbon barrels, this limited release is part of El Dorado’s revered Single Still series, spotlighting traditional distillation methods that have all but disappeared. Expect a bold, structured profile with deep aromas of leather, burnt sugar, and roasted nuts. The palate is rich with molasses, black tea, and spiced oak, balanced by hints of tobacco leaf and a long, dry finish with echoes of dark fruit and cocoa. The wooden vat still imparts a signature earthy, smoky undertone, giving this rum a distinctively old-world character. Bottled at high proof and non-chill filtered, it’s designed for serious rum lovers and collectors. This is more than just a bottle it’s a piece of distilling history. El Dorado Versailles is a must-have for anyone who appreciates artisanal craftsmanship, deep complexity, and the rare charm of heritage pot still rum.
