Ekelund Vine

- I do not want art for a few, any more than education for a few, or freedom for a few. William Morris was an influential designer & poet from Victorian England. His patterns are known for their nature-inspired motifs, intricate details, and flowing forms. By weaving Morris' patterns, we at Ekelund embrace a part of the English tradition and blend it with our Swedish heritage, creating a bridge between the past and the future, and between the English and Swedish landscapes. Vine The Vine pattern from Morris & Co was designed in 1874. Morris' daughter, May, led an embroidery workshop and used Morris & Co's 'Oak' damask in dark green as the base for the embroidery, adding depth to the panel and making it look like a dense thicket.
