They work perfectly for dragging along the bottom through mud, gravel, or sand where it will attract a fish’s attention. The shape of an egg sinker allows you to keep contact with the bottom better than other types of sinkers. Slip a lead egg sinker on the line and thread through a hole that runs lengthwise. Egg-shaped sinkers are fairly snag-resistant. They’re able to roll along the bottom and allow fish to run with the bait. When a fish bites, it pulls the line through the sinker which stays on the bottom. The fish senses less weight this way. Great for trolling, inshore, and offshore bottom fishing when using live bait. Resists snags and can slip easily through mud, sand, rocks, and weeds. Put one on the line above the swivel, then use a leader so fish don't sense its weight.
