Edwin Jagger - Double Edge Safety Razor - Black Handle - DE86

Edwin Jagger is Europe's foremost manufacturer of luxury handmade shaving equipment. Edwin Jagger products are crafted and hand-assembled in Sheffield, England — a city known for its rich industrial history. The Edwin Jagger DE86 Black DE Safety Razor (Closed Comb) is a traditional, waste-free double edge safety razor. Manufactured using the finest-quality polycarbonate material, this razor has a sleek and stylish imitation ebony design. The handle is then finished with an attractive scratch-resistant chrome plating with 'EDWIN JAGGER' and 'SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND' proudly engraved on the collar and cap respectively. With an overall length of 93mm (3.7"), this is a standard-sized razor. The practical 83mm (3.3") handle is designed to be easy to use with great levels of manoeuvrability and agility. The handle is light and small but the head is heavy, which keeps you from taking a chance and cutting yourself, while still giving you the control you need.  At 68g (2.4oz), this is a decently weighted razor, providing a reliably smooth shave. Slightly heavier than common disposable razors, you can use the extra weight to your advantage and allow the agile razor to glide across your face without having to apply any pressure. This results in fewer cuts, less irritation and a smoother shave overall. The two-part die-cast razor head has been expertly engineered to deliver a shave that is gentle on the skin but still very close and smooth. The classic Edwin Jagger closed comb head is chrome-plated and hand-polished before delivery. Famous among the wet-shaving community, this razor boasts an excellent reputation for the expert level of shaving it achieves. Closed comb style razors are the most popular type of double edge safety razor on the market. Closed comb refers to the fact that the safety bar is relatively straight aside from small grooves running along it. This feature offers a mild shave, one that restricts blade exposure but still offers a close and precise shave. The milder shave achieved makes it the perfect choice for those new to using a DE and the go-to for daily shaving for new and experienced shavers alike. This product comes with one Feather Hi-Stainless blade to get you started. Feather Blades are the preferred pairing recommended by Edwin Jagger as the sharpness of the blade paired with the head offers a comfortable, clean shave. All DE razor blades are a standardized size and shape and therefore any DE blades you purchase will be compatible with this razor. Replacement Feather blades are available to purchase on our website or from most supermarkets and pharmacies.
