Ecologic™ Mortar Customized is a custom “Mix and Go” mortar that can utilize any Saint-Astier® NHL binder, Prompt® Natural Cement, Carmeuse® High Calcium Hydrate, Quick Lime, Ecologic™ Hydraulic Lime 3.5 Platinum along with many other types of cements and lime blends designed and fit for the purpose for which they are intended to be used. To begin the conversation about an Ecologic™ Mortar Customized blend send your sample to our laboratory using this form: https://www.limeworks.us/wp-content/uploads/Sample-Submission-Form-Revised-12-19-23.pdf and we will contact you on the next steps. Our custom service allows you to obtain case-specific “in-kind” replacement materials that go beyond our 12 stock Ecologic™ Mortar colors which are based on Saint-Astier® NHL 3.5 and create the most authentic reproduction material for your important project. Available in 12 stock colors and 3 different grades: Coarse(G) to be used for joints over 3/8″ Fine (F) to be used for joints between 1/4”-3/8” Butter Joint to be used for joints under 1/4” deGruchy’s Ecologic™ Mortar, in any of the stock colors, is simply a prepared blend of binder, aggregate, and pigments to which you add water, mix, and go to work. Our lime mortar is suitable for historic buildings to re-point, stucco, parge, and plaster and contains zero Portland Cement. Ecologic™ Lime Mortar can also lay/re-lay brick, terra cotta, block, and stone on modern construction. Ecologic™ Mortar is a “Green” Product and the result is an “Old World” Lime finish that is chemically and physically suitable as a replacement mortar for historic masonry.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section i_icon_fontawesome=”fas fa-shield-alt” add_icon=”true” title=”Benefits” tab_id=”1728675167466-98d3fc91-68c5″][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”] Ecologic™ Mortar Benefits The advantage of the pre-blended material with sand and pigment already added is that the quality control of the mix design is already completed. The mixing can take place on each level of the scaffold, if suitable conditions allow using the drill and paddle mixing method, with no excess sand piles or other bags of material stored on site. Read more about the benefits of Natural Hydraulic Lime and the issues that develop from repairs done with Portland Cement. Pre-Blended deGruchy’s Ecologic™ pre-blended mortar is all you need. Having all the materials in one bag reduces the temptation to add Portland cement, which is customary when a typical Type N mortar is made with local hydrated lime. The pre-blended material ensures that the engineering of the mortar’s final properties is kept in a high-quality control environment with the right sand and the right pigments for consistent color and results. Mortar Strength NO Portland Cement is present or needed in deGruchy’s Ecologic™ Mortars yet the stock material will still reach the 750 p.s.i. required for a Type N mortar while maintaining the high permeability required for repointing and repair to historic structures originally built with lime mortars. Due to the lack of Portland cement, Ecologic™ Mortar is immune to sulfates and salts. The alkali-silica reaction does not take place with St. Astier Natural Hydraulic Limes.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section i_icon_fontawesome=”fas fa-ruler-combined” add_icon=”true” title=”Coverage” tab_id=”1728675167513-7e6e78c1-43ae”][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”] Lime Mortar Coverage: Quick Estimation Numbers & Material Calculator One pail of Ecologic™ Mortar will: Lay about 40 standard brick Lay about 10 standard 8″ x 8″ x 16″ block Repoint about 40 square feet of standard brick joints @ 3/8″ wide and 3/4″ deep Repoint about 100 lineal feet of standard brick joints @ 3/8″ wide and 3/4″ deep Repoint about 15 square feet of rubble stone wall @ 1″ wide and 1-1/4″ deep Stucco about 6 square feet @ 3/4″ thick Stucco about 21 square feet of finish coat @ 3/16″ thick [/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section i_icon_fontawesome=”fas fa-tools” add_icon=”true” title=”NHL Selection Tool” tab_id=”1728675167596-ab77339e-69cf”] NHL Selection Tool Don’t know what type of NHL is suggested for your application?
