Echeveria 'Ramillete'

Description Echeveria 'Ramillete' Care Guide FAQ/Common Issues   Echeveria 'Ramillete' is a compact succulent from the Echeveria genus, native to the mountainous regions of Mexico where it evolved to grow in rocky, well-draining terrain. It forms tight, symmetrical clusters that remain small and manageable indoors year-round.   The leaves are fleshy and spoon-shaped, with a jade-green base that shifts to red tips when exposed to bright light. 'Ramillete' produces multiple offsets naturally, building into attractive clusters without spreading aggressively. The compact rosette structure stays 3-4 inches across, making it suitable for a desk plant or windowsill succulent that occupies minimal space.   Flowering details for 'Ramillete' vary by growing conditions, though it blooms when mature. The plant tolerates dry heated air better than most houseplants. You can leave it up to ten days without water.   Move it outside in summer, but bring it back indoors before temperatures drop below 40°F. It is safe for cats and dogs, so it works anywhere in your home without risk. Propagate 'Ramillete' by gently separating the natural offsets that form around the mother plant, then let cut surfaces callus for 24-48 hours before planting in dry succulent soil.   Echeveria 'Ramillete' grows well in bright indirect light and tolerates direct sun, though intense south-facing windows can scorch the leaves.   Water it deeply but infrequently, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings every 7-14 days during the growing season.   'Ramillete' does best in well-draining cactus and succulent potting mix with added perlite or pumice for optimal drainage.   It prefers temperatures between 65-80°F and is not frost-tolerant below 32°F.   'Ramillete' is a slow to moderate grower that needs minimal fertilizer, just diluted cactus fertilizer monthly during spring.   It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11 and tolerates temperatures down to 32°F before frost damage occurs. It grows outdoors year-round in Florida, southern California, southern Texas, Arizona, Hawaii, Louisiana, southern Georgia, coastal South Carolina, southern Nevada, and parts of coastal Oregon. It grows outdoors with proper winter protection in Alabama, Mississippi, and southern regions of North Carolina. Q: How often should I water Echeveria 'Ramillete'? A: During the growing season, allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. In winter when growth slows, space waterings further apart. Q: Is it safe around cats and dogs? A: Echeveria 'Ramillete' is non-toxic and poses no risk to cats or dogs. Q: What kind of light does 'Ramillete' need indoors? A: Rotate it for even growth. Keep it away from intense south windows where leaves may scorch, and avoid placement near AC vents. Q: How big does it get? A: 'Ramillete' typically reaches 3-4 inches across and forms clusters through natural offsetting, staying compact for windowsills and desk gardens. Q: Can 'Ramillete' move outside for summer? A: Yes, but it needs gradual acclimation to prevent sunburn and protection from rain. Bring it indoors before temperatures drop below 40°F. Q: How do I propagate it? A: Gently separate the natural offsets that form around the mother plant, let cut surfaces callus for 24-48 hours, then plant in dry succulent soil.
