Echeveria 'Churro'

Description Light/Soil/Water Hardiness Echeveria ‘Churro’ is a unique and eye-catching succulent known for its elongated, slightly rolled leaves that resemble the shape of a churro pastry. With its playful form and sculptural texture, this variety adds character and curiosity to any succulent collection or modern plant display. Echeveria ‘Churro’ is a rosette-forming perennial succulent in the Crassulaceae family. Unlike classic flat-leaved Echeverias, it features thick, narrow, tubular to semi-tubular leaves, giving the plant a distinctive architectural look while retaining the genus’s signature rosette symmetry. Echeveria species are native to Mexico and Central America, growing in rocky, arid regions with excellent drainage. ‘Churro’ is a cultivated hybrid, selectively bred for its unusual leaf shape and compact growth habit. When mature, Echeveria ‘Churro’ produces arching flower stalks with bell-shaped blooms in shades of pink, coral, or orange, often tipped with yellow. Flowers typically appear in spring to early summer and provide a soft contrast to the plant’s bold foliage. Prefers bright light to full sun Water thoroughly when the soil is completely dry, always allowing water to drain freely. During winter, reduce watering as growth slows. Prefers low to moderate indoor humidity. Avoid excessive moisture around the leaves, which can promote fungal issues.: Thrives between 60–80°F (16–27°C) Needs a fast-draining cactus or succulent soil mix, with added perlite or coarse sand. Good drainage is essential for healthy roots. Feed once or twice during the active growing season with a diluted, low-nitrogen fertilizer. Avoid heavy feeding, which can weaken its structure. Echeveria ‘Churro’ is considered non-toxic to pets and humans. Still, it’s best to discourage pets from nibbling on succulents. Zone 9-11
