Echeveria Blue Wren

Description Light/Soil/Water Hardiness Echeveria ‘Blue Wren’ is a beautifully balanced rosette succulent adored for its soft blue to blue-gray foliage and delicate powdery finish. Under bright light, the leaves may develop subtle pink or lavender tones, creating a serene, watercolor-like effect that makes this variety truly special. Echeveria ‘Blue Wren’ is a tender perennial succulent in the Crassulaceae family. It forms compact, symmetrical rosettes of thick, fleshy leaves designed to store water — making it naturally drought tolerant and well suited for container growing. Echeveria species are native to Mexico and Central America, thriving in rocky, sun-drenched landscapes. ‘Blue Wren’ is a cultivated hybrid, prized for its elegant symmetry and cool blue tones. When mature, Echeveria ‘Blue Wren’ produces arching flower stalks bearing bell-shaped blooms in shades of coral, pink, or orange, often tipped with yellow. These spring to early-summer flowers create a beautiful contrast against the plant’s cool foliage. Prefers bright, direct to very bright indirect light for best color and compact growth. Insufficient light can cause the rosette to stretch and lose its shape. Water thoroughly when the soil is completely dry, making sure to avoid watering directly into the rosette to prevent rot. Reduce watering significantly during the cooler months. Adapts best to low to moderate indoor humidity. High humidity can increase the risk of fungal issues, especially if air circulation is poor. Grows best between 65–80°F. Protect from frost, as freezing temperatures can damage or kill the plant. Needs a fast-draining succulent or cactus mix with added perlite or coarse sand. Good drainage is essential to prevent root and crown rot. Feed lightly once or twice during the growing season with a diluted, low-nitrogen fertilizer. Overfeeding can cause leggy growth and weaken the plant. Echeveria 'Blue Prince' is considered non-toxic to pets and humans. Still, it’s best to discourage pets from chewing on any plant. Zone 9-11
