Luke Chiswell's Trophy series transforms worn skateboards into evocative sculptures, celebrating the cycles of creativity and perseverance. Each piece bears inscriptions in Chiswell's distinctive asemic script, with words like "Try Try Try" and "Start Again" marking pivotal moments in the process of making and remaking. Skateboarding, the artist's initial foray into transforming ideas into reality, becomes a metaphor for the eternal rhythm of vision, effort, and renewal. These sculptures encapsulate the relentless pursuit of bringing a concept to life, only to uncover the next challenge—a profound tribute to the art of doing and becoming.
