Eastman VA80 Viola Package

The Samuel Eastman Model 80 viola is a solid entry-level instrument that doesn’t feel like a compromise. It’s built from real tonewoods (spruce top, maple back and sides), so you get that deeper, warmer viola sound instead of something thin or boxy. For students and progressing players, it’s just easier to play. It responds well under the bow, stays in tune, and lets you focus on tone instead of fighting the instrument—especially important on viola, where setup really matters. Teachers like these because they’re consistent and dependable. You’re not constantly chasing issues or needing adjustments. It’s also built with quality parts where it counts—ebony fingerboard and fittings, plus a Despiau bridge—so it holds up and stays stable. Good fit for beginners who want to start on something legit, and for violinists switching to viola who don’t want to deal with a clunky, unresponsive instrument. Available in a full range of sizes, so you can actually get something that fits right.
