The waterproof membrane blocks the water but allows the sound to come through so you can hear the surrounding. Surfer’s ear is extra bone formed as lumps that grow in the ear canal due to exposure to cold water and wind when your ears are wet. Swimmer's ear is a painful condition where the skin in the ear canal becomes infected when water gets stuck in the outer ear canal. Yes. They pop in and right out with ease. What are the Eartune Aqua made of? The Eartune Aqua are made with medical-grade silicone. Other earplugs fall out of my ear, will Eartune Aqua fall out? No. Custom molded Eartune Aqua makes contact with multiple parts of your ear canal to ensure exceptional retention. How long will the Eartune Aqua last? The Eartune Aqua are made with medical grade silicone, which has a usable life of 5 years. However, many of our customers are on their 7th and 8th year of usage. How do I clean the Eartune Aqua? Gently rinse the Eartune Aqua with warm water and mild neutral soap. Then rinse with clean water and let dry completely before use. How should I carry the Eartune Aqua? Each pair of the Eartune Aqua come with a carrying case. When not in use, we recommend storing them away in the provided carrying case. Are the waterproof membranes replaceable? Yes. I live in a very hot/cold place; would there be any issues wearing the Eartune Aqua? No, Eartune Aqua are made with medical grade silicone which will expand and contract minimally with different climate. Should I visit a hearing specialist before getting an ear impression or purchasing Eartune Aqua? Not necessarily. If you have a medical need pertaining to your ears, then see the appropriate doctor or specialist. Otherwise, you can make an appointment and the licensed individual will assess your ear canal during the impression appointment. My ears are itchy, what can I do? Itchy ears can mean multiple things. The first thing you want to do is to clean your Eartune Aqua with soap and water to ensure their cleanliness. Don’t use rubbing alcohol or harsh detergents as they can break down the silicone over time. My Eartune Aqua hurt my ear, what should I do? A little bit of soreness is normal in the first week of wearing the Eartune Aqua. Your ear canal should get accustomed to them within a week. However, if the soreness persists please email us HERE. How can I gift the Eartune Aqua to my better half? Place the order under your name and leave us a note; and send us his/her ear impressions. What is the Tech-care Ear-gel included and why do I need it? Tech-care Ear-gel is a water-soluble gel that is safe to use in the ear canal. It’s meant to help the custom tips slide into your ear canal easily. Not everyone needs it so try to insert the Eartune Aqua without it first and only use as needed. How should I use the Tech-care Ear-gel? Place a small amount of Tech-care Ear-gel around the tip (do not cover the sound bore) to help lubricate it for insertion.
