Earthing Mat

Stephen Sinatra, M.D.Dr. Stephen Sinatra, renowned cardiologist, and perhaps best known for his work with CoQ-10, wrote a book called Earthing.  In it he proposes that being in direct electrical contact with the earth supplies electrons to the body that can neutralize free radicals. He and others published a peer-reviewed study in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine called “Earthing (Grounding) the Human Body Reduces Blood Viscosity—a Major Factor in Cardiovascular Disease”.  In that study, they found that “Earthing” could lower blood viscosity and therefore had the potential to reduce cardiovascular risk and cardiovascular events**.  Earthing has not undergone a great deal of study and there were only 10 participants in the study mentioned above, but it appears promising and we have a great deal of respect for Dr. Sinatra’s work. “Earthing” can be done by walking bare-foot outside, and it can also be accomplished by an electrical connection between your body and the earth outside.  Virtually every building today, except for very old ones, has a metal rod or plumbing that connects to the earth outside and is connected to each wall outlet that supports a “grounded” third-pin.  This enables us to make a mat for the sauna that is electrically the same as being barefoot outside. This earthing mat enables you to try earthing for yourself during your sauna session.  During a sauna session should be an ideal time to boost the body’s anti-oxidant resources and support detoxification. Installation takes about 15 minutes.  The earthing mat attaches to the heater underneath the bench.  Installation instructions are included. Specifications Dimensions: 13″ (33 cm) x 23.5″ (60 cm). Made from PU leather. Not compatible with High Tech Health Thermal Life saunas, the High Tech Health HR-2, or saunas made by other companies. Clip can be easily removed making this earthing mat capable of plugging into any grounded wall outlet and being used without your sauna.  Instructions for this are not included. Maintenance Hand wash with mild cleaner. ** These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA.  HTH products do not diagnose, prevent, or cure any illness.
