Mobile Earrings

Capture the whimsical elegance of iconic artist Alexander Calder. These earrings are a playful recreation of his innovative mobiles, which display a fascination with chance and motion, and are considered exquisite emblems of the kinetic art tradition. Earrings are presented in a gift box featuring the following note: "The meaning of the term 'mobile' as applied to sculpture has evolved since it was first suggested by Marcel Duchamp in 1931 to describe the early, mechanized creations of Alexander Calder. At this point, 'mobile' was synonymous with the term 'kinetic art,' describing sculptural works in which motion is a defining property." For more than 30 years, David Howell & Company has specialized in the innovative design of sophisticated jewelry, ornaments, bookmarks, and more.
