Earlywood Big Tera Scraper

Product Title: Earlywood Big Tera Scraper Main Description: Although it may look like one, the Big Tera Scraper isn’t exactly a spatula—it’s much better. The simple design gently tapers from the handle down to the slanted front edge, so it has both a smooth, substantial feel in the hand and a thin, nimble edge for turning, flipping and scraping. Like most of Montana-based Earlywood’s tools, the Big Tera is crafted specifically for cast-iron use; the solid wood construction and angled edge are tough enough for thorough scraping, which helps prevent food and oil from building up on the surface and flaking off. But you can use this tool in any kind of pan, from stainless steel skillets to carbon steel woks to enameled Dutch ovens. Its broad, slanted shape is excellent for agitating stir-fries, while the narrow front edge does a great job at flipping eggs and loosening fond for braises and pan sauces. It’s also the perfect utensil for cutting into lasagna, quiches and casseroles because, unlike sharp metal tools, the wood won’t damage the finish of your baking dishes. You can even flip it on its side and use it like a bench scraper to scoop up chopped veggies during prep. Available in Jatoba or Hard Maple wood. Net Weight: 8 ounces Materials: Jatoba Wood or Hard Maple Dimensions: 13 inches x 2.75 inches x 0.5 inches (tapers to 0.03 inches at the tip) Place of Origin: Red Lodge, Montana Care: Hand-wash only with hot soapy water, using a scour pad or the scratchy side of a standard kitchen sponge. Oil liberally with food-safe wood oil when the scraper looks dry. Do not soak or put in the dishwasher. How to Use: We grab the Big Tera Scraper for agitating stir-fries and fried rice, like our Korean Stir-Fried Chicken with Rice or Peruvian Steak Stir-Fry with Onions and Tomatoes (Lomo Saltado). It also does a great job of scraping up fond and gently cutting and serving big slices of lasagna or quiche. The flat side can double as a bench scraper.
