A: This expression is aged two years longer (12 years vs. 10 years) and bottled at a higher proof (95 proof vs. 90 proof). This results in a deeper, richer, and more complex flavor profile with more pronounced oak and dark fruit characteristics. Q: What does "hand-selected" mean in this context? A: It means that the expert tasting team at the distillery has sampled numerous barrels and specifically chosen only those that meet the high standards and unique flavor profile desired for this premium, 12-year-old release. Q: Is this a limited edition? A: Yes, an older age-stated release like this from a sought-after brand like Eagle Rare would be a limited and highly anticipated release. Q: What is Buffalo Trace Mash Bill #1? A: While the exact recipe is a distillery secret, it is Buffalo Trace's low-rye mash bill, estimated to contain less than 10% rye. This mash bill is known for producing sweeter, more caramel- and fruit-forward bourbons. Q: Where can I purchase Eagle Rare 12 Year? A: Due to its limited nature, this bourbon would be difficult to find. We recommend contacting our preferred retail partner, Nestor Liquor, to inquire about their inventory and availability.
