No more "school bus" feeling steering. A massive upgrade. Availability - Good condition E30 steering racks are becoming harder to come by in good used condition and later model steering units are much more readily available and priced nearly the same if not cheaper in many cases. Even if you are not interested in the performance upgrade this may end up as a more practical replacement for an aged/leaking steering rack. Fitment Fits all non-airbag E30 models, except E30 325IX DOES NOT FIT E30 325IX. E30 IX models use a steering rack that is unique to the 325IX. DOES NOT FIT Euro model E30s with straight steering coupler shafts Install - Some steering shafts will require minor drilling with a 9/16" bit to fit our larger shouldered spacer. Installation will require relieving the OEM steering joints to make sure there is no binding under rotation. WHAT MAKES OUR KIT BETTER? The Garagistic steering rack swap kit features a shouldered spacer for the steering knuckle. What this means is that the spacer locates within the factory cast parts ensuring that the bolt has no side-to-side play resulting in the ultimate in steering response. This feature makes our product unique and superior to many of our competitors which do not have this shoulder and opens the opportunity for the bolts move within the steering assembly. Upgrade your slow E30 steering rack with the Garagistic steering rack swap kit and take on the twisties with confidence!
