343 Piece "E" Type Retaining Ring Assortment

343 E-type retaining rings in a pre-packaged assortment covering the shaft diameters most commonly found in automotive linkages, pivot pins, and small mechanical assemblies. E-clips are faster to install and remove than standard snap rings — no snap ring pliers required — making them the retainer of choice for pivot points and linkage pins that get adjusted or replaced in service. What's Included E-type retaining rings (E-clips) — C-shaped spring steel clips that snap into a circumferential groove on a shaft Multiple sizes covering common pivot pin and shaft diameters in automotive and mechanical applications 343 pieces total Specifications Fastener type E-type retaining rings (E-clips) Material Carbon spring steel Application Pivot pins, linkage shafts, small mechanical assemblies — automotive and general Installation tool Flat screwdriver or finger pressure — no snap ring pliers required Total pieces 343 Supplier Auveco Best For Automotive service shops — E-clips appear on brake hardware, door hinge pins, hood latch rods, and throttle linkages; a stocked assortment covers routine service without sourcing individual sizes Body shops — door hinges, hood latches, and trunk latch mechanisms all use E-clips for pivot pin retention; keeping common sizes on hand prevents disassembly delays Small engine and equipment shops — E-clips are used on pivot pins, shift linkages, and governor linkages on small engines and outdoor power equipment Fleet maintenance operations — commercial vehicle linkage and latch hardware regularly needs E-clip replacement during body and brake work Understanding E-Type Retaining Rings E-clips (also called E-rings or E-type retaining rings) get their name from their profile: a three-pronged C-shape that resembles the letter E. Unlike standard snap rings that require snap ring pliers to expand or compress for installation, E-clips snap sideways into a groove on the shaft — they can be installed and removed with a flat screwdriver or even finger pressure in many applications. The three prongs grip the groove circumferentially and resist axial pull-out. E-clips are best suited for moderate axial loads — they don't provide the same retention force as a heavy-duty external snap ring, but they're fast, accessible, and reusable in low-load applications. To select the correct E-clip, measure the groove diameter on the shaft — this determines the E-clip size, not the shaft outside diameter. Questions about sizing? Contact us.
