Dwarf Helenium

This cheerful, hardworking annual is a native powerhouse from the Southeastern and Midwestern U.S. It brings a bright, sunny disposition to the front of the border or cottage garden, growing to a breezy height of just 12 inches. The flowers are a delight, with ruffled canary-yellow petals surrounding a prominent, puffy yellow center. It's a favorite of small, native bees, offering them a long-lasting feast from spring right through the summer. As garden friends, we love a plant that's both beautiful and low-maintenance. This is it. 'Dwarf Helenium' is an ideal bedding plant precisely because it requires no dead-heading to keep the blooms coming. It also has a secret weapon—it's toxic to mammals, which means your sunny display will be left alone by deer and rabbits. It's a perfect, self-sufficient addition to any flower bed or conservation mixture
