DeWalt Annular Cutter DWAC02008 3/4 Inch Weldon Shank Magnetic Drill Bit (1/2 Diameter 2 Cut Depth Ground Flutes Steel Plate Hole Boring Tools)

DeWalt DWAC02008 1/2" x 2" HSS Annular Cutter (3/4" Weldon Shank) The DeWalt DWAC02008 1/2-inch x 2-inch high-speed steel annular cutter machines precise, burr-free through-holes across heavy structural steel plates, iron I-beams, truck chassis rails, and sheet metal fabrications. Manufactured from premium high-speed tool steel with precision-ground cutting teeth, this hollow core bit removes only the periphery of the hole, drastically accelerating cutting cycles while reducing drilling motor strain compared to standard solid twist drill bits. Outfitted with an extended 2-inch maximum cutting depth capacity, enhanced spiral swarf evacuation flutes that eliminate bit packing, and a standardized 3/4-inch Weldon shank with dual drive flats, it equips commercial steel erectors, metal fabricators, and heavy equipment mechanics with chatter-free hole broaching in portable magnetic drill presses and stationary machine shop tool arbors. Best Used For: Structural Steel Framing and Beam Connection: Coring clean 1/2-inch bolt clearance holes through structural steel columns, baseplates, and girder connections on building construction sites. Thick Alloy Plate and Channel Section Coring: Drilling through carbon steel plates, structural channel, and rectangular box tubing up to 2 inches thick without pilot pre-drilling. Commercial Vehicle Frame and Equipment Modification: Boring precise mounting holes in truck chassis rails, agricultural machinery frames, and industrial utility bodies without work hardening. Key Performance & Safety Features High-Speed Steel Construction: Premium-grade HSS metallurgy maintains tooth hardness and structural strength under severe frictional heat and thermal expansion. Precision-Ground Tooth Geometry: Multi-cut tooth profiles balance chip loads evenly across each cutting edge, minimizing rotational chatter and leaving smooth, clean hole walls. Extended 2" Cutting Depth: Deep hollow cylinder capacity penetrates structural steel plates and hollow structural sections (HSS) ranging from 1/8 inch to 2 inches in thickness. Enhanced Spiral Flute Design: Optimized external fluting evacuates dense metal swarf and spiral turnings out of deep blind holes to eliminate bit seizure. Universal 3/4" Weldon Shank: Precision-milled dual retention flats seat firmly into magnetic drill press set screws, preventing rotational slip under high feed torque. Automatic Core Slug Ejection: Hollow barrel design accommodates standard spring-loaded center pilot pins to direct cooling fluid and automatically eject the center steel slug.
