Duratec® Grey Vinyl Ester Primer

Duratec® Gray Vinyl Ester Primer brings unmatched strength and performance in a highly functional resin system. It was originally designed as the premier barrier coat for boat hulls and repairs, but has been found to be useful in many composite applications including resurfacing molds, marine construction and repair, and corrosion protection for tank lining and piping. It's also frequently used when fabricating dimensionally stable general purpose and high temperature patterns. Duratec® Gray Vinyl Ester Primer is water and chemical resistant and will cure in open-air, requiring no wax or air inhibitor. It offers great temperature stability with a Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT) of 285&deg F. It cures with low porosity, providing a defect-free surface and can be polished to a medium gloss. It's safe to use, offering low VOC's and low Hazardous Air Pollutants. This primer comes pre-promoted for simplicity and consistent performance- simply catalyze with MEKP and spray, brush or roll on. To reach your desired spray viscosity, you can thin 5%-15% with #2306 Duratec® Reducer. Duratec® Gray Vinyl Ester Primer contains fillers that will sink to the bottom of the container. Use a paint shaker or a drill-mounted mixer and agitate until all pigment is dispersed and no lumps remain. Requires 2% MEKP. Duratec® is a registered trademark of DURA TECHNOLOGIES INC.
