Make craft beer at home without the steep learning curve. This Dunkles Bock recipe kit comes with every pre-measured ingredient you need to brew Martin's Dunkles Bock, a 5-gallon all-grain batch, from grain to glass. Bock traces back to Einbeck, a brewing town in Lower Saxony whose strong export ales were later taken up by Bavarian brewers in Munich. The dunkles version is the older, darker branch of the family: a deep copper to brown lager built on Munich malt, with bready and lightly toasted flavors and only enough hops to keep the sweetness in check. Fermentation stays cold and clean, so the malt does the talking. This one lands near seven percent, strong enough to warm without turning heavy, and pours a dark amber under a tan head. It drinks smooth and slow, the kind of lager that suits colder months and a patient pour. A single charge of Perle hops sits well in the background.
