DSSC Aegis Collar — 2" Heavy Duty Tactical Agitation Collar Dog Sport Supply Co. · 2" Wide · Neoprene-Lined · Cobra Buckle · Built for Bite Sports & Daily Use One collar. Every job. The DSSC Aegis Collar is built for dogs that work — whether that means daily obedience, protection sport training, or serious bite work. At 2" wide with a neoprene-padded liner, a steel D-ring, an integrated nylon handle, and a heavy-duty cobra buckle, this collar is overbuilt by design. It earns its place on the dog's neck whether you're at the club, on the field, or just out for a walk. 2" wide construction: Maximum surface area distributes pressure evenly and provides a stable platform for the handle and D-ring. Designed for large, powerful breeds. Neoprene-lined interior: Soft, durable neoprene padding protects your dog's neck during high-intensity work, long wear, and agitation sessions without adding bulk. Steel D-ring: Heavy-duty welded steel ring for attaching leashes, leads, long lines, or any clip you trust with a serious dog on the other end. Integrated nylon handle: Grab your dog instantly for control, direction, or positioning — no fumbling, no delay. Sewn directly into the collar for zero-flex grip. Cobra-style metal buckle: Military-grade hardware that locks under load and releases cleanly when you need it to. Not a plastic snap — this is equipment-grade closure built to outlast the dog's career. Dual use: Purpose-built for bite sport and agitation work, but constructed well enough to be your dog's everyday collar. No need to swap between training and daily wear. Specs Width: 2 inches Liner: Neoprene padding Hardware: Heavy-duty cobra-style metal buckle D-ring: Steel, welded Handle: Integrated nylon handle Sizes: Medium (16"–19" neck) / Large (18"–25" neck) Brand: Dog Sport Supply Co. The cobra buckle won't fail mid-session. Working dog owners: If your dog works hard and you want one collar that handles every situation — this is it. Skip the gear swap between training and everyday wear. Serious everyday dog owners: Even if your dog isn't in sport, if they're large, powerful, and require real control hardware, this collar gives you that without looking tactical for its own sake. Handle vs. D-Ring — When to Use Each Integrated handle: Best for close-range control — positioning during blind searches, redirecting at the trial field, handler safety during agitation work, or loading/unloading from a vehicle. Steel D-ring: Your attachment point for leashes, long lines, working leads, and any hardware you're clipping on. Centered for balance and load distribution. Quick tip: If you're using this as an agitation collar, get your dog comfortable wearing it during low-intensity sessions before introducing it in drive. A collar your dog associates with work will carry a different energy — build the positive history with it first so it's a cue, not a surprise. Designed and branded by Dog Sport Supply Co. Built to the standards that working dog handlers actually demand. FAQs What makes this different from a standard dog collar? Most collars are built for pets. This one is built for working dogs and sport handlers. The 2" width, neoprene liner, cobra buckle, steel D-ring, and integrated handle are all purpose-selected for dogs that train hard and owners who demand real equipment. A standard 1" nylon buckle collar isn't engineered for this kind of use — this one is. Is this appropriate for daily wear, or just for training sessions? Both. The neoprene liner makes extended wear comfortable, and the hardware is built to last through years of daily use. Many handlers prefer to keep one collar on the dog full-time rather than switching between a "nice" collar and a working collar — this one handles both roles without compromise. What is a cobra buckle and why does it matter? A cobra buckle is a military-spec metal closure that locks under tension — the harder it's pulled, the more securely it seats. Unlike standard plastic side-release buckles, cobra hardware is rated for significant load and won't snap, crack, or fatigue over time. For a working dog in a high-drive state, that matters. It opens cleanly and intentionally when you press and rotate the release — not by accident. Why neoprene lining specifically? Neoprene is soft against the skin, resists moisture absorption, and holds its shape under compression. For a 2" collar worn during agitation work or long training days, it prevents the chafing and pressure points you'd get from bare nylon or leather pressing against a dog's neck. It also handles water exposure well — whether the dog is working in wet conditions, going through a water element, or just coming in from rain. Is this collar appropriate for IGP/Schutzhund trial use? This collar is built to the functional standards of bite sport training and competition. As always, verify equipment compliance with your specific trial judge or club prior to the event — rules vary by organization and trial level. It is widely appropriate for club training, agitation work, and protection sport preparation at any level. What size dogs is this collar designed for? The Aegis Collar comes in two sizes. Medium fits neck circumferences of 16"–18" and covers most Belgian Malinois, Dutch Shepherds, and similar mid-sized working breeds. Large fits 19"–25" and is the right call for German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Dobermans, and other larger working breeds. To measure, wrap a soft tape measure around the widest part of your dog's neck and add 1"–2" for a comfortable working fit. When in doubt between sizes, go large.
