DSSC Trial Sleeve Cover

DSSC Trial Sleeve Cover Dog Sport Supply Co. · 100% Jute · Available With or Without Handle The DSSC Trial Sleeve Cover extends the life of your trial sleeve and gives you control over bite surface feel without replacing the whole sleeve. Built from durable jute, it slips over your existing sleeve to protect the underlying shell from wear while giving dogs a firm, traditional bite surface consistent with jute equipment used across protection sport disciplines. Available in two versions: with handle, for decoys who want an added grip and presentation point, and without handle, for a cleaner, streamlined fit. Extends sleeve life: Takes the direct wear of repeated bites so your underlying trial sleeve lasts longer. Replace the cover, not the whole sleeve, once it wears down. 100% jute construction: A firm, traditional bite surface that's been the standard in protection sport training for decades, consistent with jute equipment your dog already knows. With-handle version: Adds a secure grip point for decoys during presentation and positioning, useful for controlled sessions where handler and decoy need precise sleeve placement. Without-handle version: A streamlined fit for decoys who want a cleaner presentation without an added grip point, closer to a trial-realistic profile. Cross-discipline use: Fits into training and evaluation work for IGP/Schutzhund, French Ring, KNPV, PSA, and K9 bite work. Specs Type: Replaceable trial sleeve cover Material: 100% jute Versions: With handle / Without handle (select at purchase) Brand: Dog Sport Supply Co. Best for: Decoys and helpers running trial sleeves in IGP/Schutzhund, French Ring, KNPV, PSA, and K9 bite work. With Handle vs. Without Handle — Which One Is Right? With Handle: Gives the decoy an extra grip and presentation point on the sleeve. Useful in controlled training sessions where added handling control matters more than a trial-exact profile. Without Handle: A cleaner, more streamlined cover that keeps the sleeve profile closer to what the dog will see in an actual trial or evaluation setting. Not sure? Go with handle for training sessions where you want more control over sleeve presentation. Go without handle when you want the dog working a realistic, trial-accurate profile. Quick tip: Rotate covers instead of running one cover until it's worn through. Swapping in a fresh cover keeps bite feel consistent for the dog and protects your underlying sleeve from taking direct wear it doesn't need to. Designed by Dog Sport Supply Co. for decoys who need equipment that performs and holds up, session after session. FAQs What is a trial sleeve cover for? It protects your trial sleeve from direct bite wear. Instead of the dog's bites wearing down the sleeve shell itself, the cover takes the impact. When it wears out, you replace the cover instead of the entire sleeve. Will this fit my existing trial sleeve? The cover is built to fit standard trial sleeve shapes and sizing. If you're unsure about compatibility with a specific sleeve, reach out before ordering so we can confirm fit. Should I choose the version with a handle or without? With handle gives decoys an extra grip point for presentation and control during training sessions. Without handle gives a cleaner, more trial-realistic profile. Neither changes the jute bite surface itself, it's a handling and presentation choice. Why jute instead of another material? Jute has been the standard bite surface in protection sport training for decades. It offers a firm, consistent feel that's familiar to dogs already working on jute equipment elsewhere in their training. How often should I replace the cover? Replace it once the jute shows significant wear, fraying, or thinning at the primary bite points. Keeping a spare on hand and rotating covers is the most efficient way to keep your sleeve session-ready.
