DSSC Leather Apron

DSSC Leather Helper Apron Dog Sport Supply Co. · Full Leather · Cut-to-Length Custom Fit · Scratch & Bite Protection The DSSC Leather Helper Apron is heavy scratch protection you can dial in to your exact body. Built from full leather, it takes the abuse of agitation and protection work while staying cooler and lighter than a full scratch pant — the go-to when the weather turns hot but the dogs don't slow down. Unlike one-size aprons, ours is made to be trimmed and adjusted so it fits you, not the average of everyone. Built by trainers, trusted by professionals. Full leather protection: Thick, full-grain leather absorbs scratches, grabs, and bites where a young or driven dog targets your legs. Real hide protection — not a coated fabric that wears through after a season of hard sessions. Cut it to your length: The leather can be trimmed to length for the exact coverage you want. Tall handlers get full protection; shorter handlers lose the drag and bunching. Most aprons force you into one length — ours adapts to your frame. Add holes for a perfect fit: Punch extra holes in the buckle straps to fine-tune the fit exactly where you need it. No dead zones between factory holes, no straps flapping loose — lock it in snug and it stays put through the drive. Fast on and off: Quick buckle closures let you suit up and strip down between dogs without a fight. Get protected, work the dog, move to the next one. Hot-weather ready: The apron is the smart swap for scratch pants when it's too hot for a full suit. You keep the leg protection that matters and shed the heat you don't need. Built to move: Cut for real footwork — entrances, redirects, and drives — so you stay mobile and balanced instead of fighting stiff, boxy gear. Designed by Dog Sport Supply Co. for helpers who want protection that fits them, not the other way around. FAQs Can I really cut this apron to length? Yes. The full-leather build is made to be trimmed to the length you want. Tall handlers keep full coverage; shorter handlers remove the excess so nothing drags or bunches while you work. Most training aprons ship one length and leave you to live with it — ours is built to adapt to your frame. How does the custom-fit buckle work? You can punch extra holes in the buckle straps to set the fit exactly where you need it. That means no loose dead zones between factory holes and no straps flapping during a drive — you lock it in snug and it holds. What is it made of? Full leather. It stands up to repeated scratch and bite contact and holds its shape season after season, unlike coated fabrics that wear through. Why choose an apron over scratch pants? The apron gives you the leg protection that matters while shedding the heat of a full suit or scratch pant. It's the smart hot-weather solution and it goes on and off fast between dogs. Which dog sports is it for? Field and protection work across disciplines — IGP/Schutzhund, French Ring, PSA, and general agitation and bite training where you need reliable leg protection and freedom to move.
