Drought-Tolerant Evergreen Tree

Shimmering Icy-Blue Foliage Drought-tolerant Cypress trees bump up the "green" in "evergreen" to a glistening shade of silvery bluish-green -- breathtaking! And although they'll look as though you've spent hours carefully shaping them into a perfect conical or pyramidal shape, you can put away the pruning shears. Arizona Cypress trees naturally grow into this geometrical shape! A Durable Beauty Drought-tolerant trees are rarely bothered by pests and disease, which makes them an easy-care choice for busy gardeners. Sunny sites encourage fast growth and help keep the foliage bright. • Exquisite foliage. The foliage of Arizona Blue Cypress is as textural as it is colorful. Even though the scale-like leaves have a delicate and lace-like appearance, the trees are strong and resilient -- anything but delicate! • Evergreen. The foliage not only persists on plants year-round, but it also retains the icy-blue color that contrasts beautifully with true-green evergreens. • Drought- and heat-tolerant.This winning combination is tough to find -- plants that can take the heat without an inordinate demand for water during temporary dry spells. Winter Dazzle In the warm climates of USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 6 through 9 where Arizona Blue Cypress is a perennial, wintertime landscapes are not often brightened by snow. But the icy-blue foliage of these drought-tolerant trees resembles the look of trees that have been dusted by snow -- a refreshing sight in temperate climates. As an evergreen hedge, Arizona Blue Cypress trees are resplendent, but if you plant only one tree as a prominent focal point in your front yard, you can even decorate it during the holidays! We carry two drought-tolerant varieties in our nursery, the Arizona Cypress (Cupressus arizonica) and the Carolina Sapphire (Cupressus arizonica ‘Carolina Sapphire’). When you order you will receive one of these varieties, but rest assured that both can stand up to harsh environments while still providing long-lasting privacy and fast growth.
