Drop Down Tailgate for Jeep JK/JKU

The Motobilt Aluminum Drop Down Tailgate is specifically designed for the 2007-2018 Jeep JK and JKU, offering a perfect blend of style, security, and functionality. With a 300 lb load capacity and easy access to the rear trunk, it is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and adventurers who need a dependable and efficient way to manage their gear. The aluminum tailgate's design includes locking latches to secure your load, and a recessed license plate for a custom look. The included hinge covers and factory door hinge delete plugs provide a clean, finished appearance that complements the vehicle’s aesthetics. Installing the aluminum drop-down tailgate replaces the need for a spare tire, which significantly improves rear visibility, enhancing both safety and convenience. The lightweight aluminum construction is not only robust but also lighter than the factory setup, which, combined with removing the factory tire carrier and spare tire, substantially reduces the overall weight of your vehicle. This modification eliminates the worry of dragging a large spare tire during steep climbs and vertical ledges, greatly enhancing your vehicle's departure angle and making it more capable in extreme off-road conditions. Moreover, this upgrade spares you the expense associated with purchasing a full-size spare tire, wheel, heavy-duty tire carrier, and license plate relocation kit, making it a cost-effective solution for enhancing your Jeep's utility and performance.
