Drinking Gourd

An Attic Journal is more than just a notebook; it's a piece of history, carefully handmade to capture the moments of your story. Upcycled from vintage school and library books—once destined for the landfill but lovingly revived in our Portland studio—each journal is a unique treasure. We give new life to these forgotten books, allowing you to write your own tale within their pages. Product Features: 75 pages of blank, sustainably sourced 22 or 24# paper—perfect for jotting down your thoughts, sketches, or dreams. A durable wire binding that allows your journal to lay flat or fold over, making it easy to write anywhere your story takes you. A nod to the past: Each journal includes the first few pages of the original book, where you might find remnants of its former life, such as checkout cards, handwritten notes, library stamps, and more. At Attic Journals, we believe there’s magic in the margins. You may discover: Vintage checkout cards hidden in the pages Inscribed messages or names from past owners Stamps, barcodes, and library tape from a book’s well-loved history Or perhaps a charming scribble from a child, adding a playful touch to the original text These bits of history are what make each Attic Journal truly one-of-a-kind. Once you receive your journal, find your magic in the margins and share it with us! Post a photo on Instagram with the hashtag #magicinthemargins and tag @atticjournals—we can’t wait to celebrate the history and magic you discover!
