About This Style Vintage rugs are designed to evoke an antique aesthetic, often featuring faded tones, abrash colour variation, or distressed surface treatments. Medallion rugs centre on a dominant circular or diamond-shaped motif, a hallmark of classical Anatolian design, while floral compositions incorporate botanical forms like blossoms and vines. Distressing often results from decades of use combined with overdyeing, a process where the original rug is submerged in a colour bath, leaving ghost traces of the original pattern visible beneath the wash. Where It Works The flatweave construction allows this rug to lie perfectly flush against the floor, making it highly suitable for high-traffic areas such as hallways, kitchens, or dining rooms. Its thin profile is ideal for layering over larger carpets, while the material composition ensures it is compatible with underfloor heating systems. Why Choose This Rug? — Features a traditional medallion central motif complemented by intricate botanical floral patterns in muted grey and brown tones. — Constructed from a cotton and polyester blend, offering the breathability of natural fibres with the added durability and moisture resistance of synthetic materials. — Utilises a flatwoven construction that produces a no-shed, low-pile surface, ensuring the rug remains stable and easy to maintain in active environments. — These rugs reference the Anatolian hand-weaving tradition; each piece is one-of-a-kind, with minor variations in colour and pattern that are characteristic of vintage-style production. — Engineered to be layering-friendly and safe for underfloor heating, providing a practical, high-traffic durable solution for diverse room layouts.
