Dovo Inox Straight Razor 5/8" Olivewood Stainless Steel

This 5/8" Inox is part of Dovo’s rare stainless steel straight razors collection. Using the same on-hand grinding technique and bearing the brand’s distinct 24-karat gold decorations, the Inox full hollow ground blade and ribbed olive wood scales provide the same luxurious and artisan charm of Dovo razors. Blade Stainless steel 1.4034, 24k gold-plated The Inox wears a 1.4034 stainless steel blade with excellent resistance against corrosion-inducing elements, like soap, water, and steam, accounting for its unbeatable quality and incredible sharpness. Its stainless features allow ease of use, maintenance, and cleaning, especially for wet shaving neophytes. The elegant 24-karat gold detailing gives the blade an overall deluxe appeal. Round point, biconcave profile The Inox blade point has a round shape, which is the notable Dutch Point. This kind of straight razor is excellent for beginners as it offers no sharp corners that can accidentally cut the user. Therefore, anyone can use it with ease and not worry about precision. Full hollow ground To guarantee ultimate precision and control, the Inox went through a rigorous full hollow grinding process. Its featherweight width, biconcave from its back to its cutting edge, is ideal for a functional design to achieve a clean and close shave. The edge bevels perfectly on the skin, offering a satisfying sound and gentle shave sans vibration. 5/8" The 5/8 inch width of the blade acts as a versatile shaving partner that can cater to any wet shaving task, especially for thicker and stronger beard growth. The blade’s heft or weight accounts for a close and smooth shave in fewer passes around the nose, ears, and chin without the need to apply too much pressure. In the end, it prevents accidental nicks and horrid skin irritations after shaving. Handle Olive wood, one-sided ribbed tang Olive wood boasts an alluring and multicolored appearance, making it the perfect handsome choice for straight razors donning an aesthetic appeal. It is more robust and resilient than other woods against mold infestation and water, therefore being a favorable material for shaving tools such as handles of straight razors, shaving brushes, and shavettes. The one-sided ribbed tang aids in lessening the risk of accidental nicks and slips while shaving. Size 16 cm x 2.5 cm x 1.1 cm Shaving Guide Before using any straight razor, the blade should be run through a leather strop 15-20 times on each side. Prepare your lather on a shaving scuttle and prep your skin with a warm towel. Apply a shaving oil before putting a generous amount of lather on your face using a shaving brush. Hold your razor with the handle pointing away from you and use your free hand to gently stretch the skin opposite to the area you are shaving. Shave while following a natural and comfortable direction. Maintenance To guarantee that a carbon steel straight razor blade stays at its prime quality, ensure that the straight razor is completely dry after use. Dab the blade dry with a cloth while avoiding the edge and hang it in a razor stand to drain excess moisture properly. Let the razor rest for 48 hours before shaving again to have the burr realign itself. If the razor is not going to be used for an extensive period, apply an acid-free oil before storing it.
