Double-Point Sling

The Wilderness Double-Point Sling is a rugged rifle sling suitable for tactical or hunting use. It is a two-point style, meaning it attaches to the weapon at two points. By dropping the support-side elbow and arm out of the body loop, it allows transitioning from one shoulder to the other for shooting around obstacles. It is adjustable for length, but is not a quick-adjust style of sling for simplicity. The sling is ambidextrous and may be installed for right- or left-handed shooters, and does not impede access to the weapon’s controls. It features an emergency-release buckle at the front which is easily triggered with gloved hands. Adjustment The Double-Point Sling “set and forget” buckle system may be adjusted to fit easily, yet it will not lose its adjustments even through hard field use. We believe in simplicity with no moving parts to fail or added complexity under combat or hunting stress. When properly adjusted, the butt of the rifle should sit about just below the right shoulder at about mid-chest level. The butt of the weapon should rest naturally in the shoulder pocket when the weapon is brought up on target. When released, the rifle hangs vertically against the user’s chest with the muzzle aimed straight, or slightly angled to, the ground. This allows you to use your hands without losing control of your primary weapon or access to it, and makes operations such as transitioning to a secondary weapon, opening doors, or checking a map significantly easier. Shooting Positions When adjusted with the correct amount of slack, the Double-Point Sling should still allow you to assume numerous asymmetric shooting positions including standing, kneeling, sitting, squatting, and a variety of prone positions without any readjustment of the sling length. Top quality materials Like all Wilderness Tactical products, this sling is manufactured at our Phoenix, Arizona facility to exceptionally high standards of design and construction from the best materials available. The standard version is made of 1.25″ extra-heavy nylon webbing (supports weight much better than 1″) and our custom extra-heavy duty black non-glare Delrin hardware. We make every effort to use buckles and attachments that are unlikely to make noise or reflect light. Our premium webbing is much more dense and rigid than typical cheap webbing. It is custom-made to our standards for rigidity, vertical cross-grain structure and durability. It has no resin (which many manufacturers use to initially stiffen webbing) which can break down or change in use. While perhaps not as comfortable as soft webbing, professional users have stressed to us repeatedly that utility and durability matter most. Our webbing holds its form well, unlike soft, wide webbing which tends to roll up into a rope-like shape with extended use. The stiffness also makes getting into or out of the sling easier. It holds up much better under rough, sandy field conditions that eat soft, shapeless webbing over time. An alternative for those who prefer a little give to their sling is our custom-made XHD Heavy-Duty Elastic webbing. It has just a little stretch, and is tremendously rugged as well. Available in black only. As always, connections are multi-stitched and backstitched using proven rescue-industry stitch patterns, and a polyester blend thread is used instead of nylon which degrades more quickly under UV exposure. We pay more to use the best materials, and choose to use the most appropriate materials for each component, but we don’t think you would want it any other way.
