Double Jointed Leather Covered Loose Ring

The Double Jointed Leather Covered Loose Ring Bit has a stainless steel core wrapped in leather, providing strength while offering a softer surface than a bare metal bit. The leather softens slightly when moistened, giving a gentler surface for horses with sensitive mouths. Flat, non-abrasive stitching keeps the mouthpiece smooth, reducing the risk of irritation. Loose ring cheekpieces allow the bit to move freely in the horse’s mouth, encouraging jaw mobility and preventing the horse from locking against the contact. The double-jointed mouthpiece has a central link that distributes pressure evenly and reduces the nutcracker effect. Ideal for horses that benefit from a mobile mouthpiece and respond better to a softer, leather covered bit than to a standard metal one. Key Features of the Leather-Covered Mouthpiece Softens with Saliva :The leather covering the bit becomes more pliable when moistened, offering a gentler surface for horses that prefer softer mouthpieces and encouraging better acceptance in sensitive mouths. Durable Core with Leather Overlay : A solid metal core wrapped in high-quality leather combines strength with a softer feel compared to bare metal bits. Flat, Non-Abrasive Stitching : The stitching lies flush against the leather, reducing the chance of rubbing or irritation and keeping the mouthpiece comfortable for the horse. Double Jointed Features : Even Pressure Distribution: The two joints with a center link reduce palate pressure and distributes contact more evenly across the tongue, bars, and corners of the mouth. Tongue Pressure Variation: The size and shape of the center link influence how much tongue pressure is applied, making it adaptable for horses with different mouth conformations. Greater Mobility: The design allows the mouthpiece to move more freely than a single joint, improving comfort and reducing resistance in many horses. Loose Ring Design Features : Increased Flexibility : The loose ring design allows the bit rings to move independently, minimizing pressure on the horse’s mouth and encouraging relaxation. Adaptive Control : The strength and effectiveness of the bit vary depending on factors such as material, thickness, and overall design. Pinch Prevention : For horses with sensitive mouth corners, rubber bit rings can be added to prevent pinching and increase comfort.
