Double Jointed Leather Covered Full Cheek

The Double Jointed Leather Covered Full Cheek Bit has a stainless steel core wrapped in leather, providing strength while offering a softer surface than a bare metal bit. The leather softens slightly when moistened, giving a gentler surface for horses with sensitive mouths. Flat, non-abrasive stitching keeps the mouthpiece smooth, reducing the risk of irritation. The full cheek design provides lateral stability, helping the horse maintain straightness and supporting consistent rein contact. The double-jointed mouthpiece features a central link that distributes pressure evenly across the tongue and bars, reducing the nutcracker effect. Ideal for horses that benefit from lateral support or respond better to a leather covered bit than a standard metal bit. Key Features of the Leather-Covered Mouthpiece Softens with Saliva :The leather covering the bit becomes more pliable when moistened, offering a gentler surface for horses that prefer softer mouthpieces and encouraging better acceptance in sensitive mouths. Durable Core with Leather Overlay : A solid metal core wrapped in high-quality leather combines strength with a softer feel compared to bare metal bits. Flat, Non-Abrasive Stitching : The stitching lies flush against the leather, reducing the chance of rubbing or irritation and keeping the mouthpiece comfortable for the horse. Double Jointed Features : Even Pressure Distribution: The two joints with a center link reduce palate pressure and distributes contact more evenly across the tongue, bars, and corners of the mouth. Tongue Pressure Variation: The size and shape of the center link influence how much tongue pressure is applied, making it adaptable for horses with different mouth conformations. Greater Mobility: The design allows the mouthpiece to move more freely than a single joint, improving comfort and reducing resistance in many horses. Full Cheek Design Features : Enhanced Stability : The full cheek design prevents the bit from sliding through the horse’s mouth, providing more stable lateral guidance. Direct Contact : The extended cheekpieces offer more direct cues, helping horses maintain better balance and stay on track. Encourages Responsiveness : The full cheek bit design promotes consistent, gentle guidance, making it easier for the horse to stay engaged and responsive during rides.
