The lightweight 2 oz. construction keeps the wig breathable and easy to wear for extended periods. Wefted caps allow airflow, reducing warmth and scalp discomfort. Check our Wig Size Chart by Brand to confirm the right size for you. Can I heat-style the Dot by Ellen Wille? No, the Dot by Ellen Wille is made from standard synthetic fiber and is not heat-styleable. Flat irons, curling wands, or blow dryers can permanently damage the fibers. The good news is the style arrives pre-set, so minimal effort is needed to maintain its shape. To understand the difference between synthetic and heat-friendly fibers, visit our Wig Fiber Guide for a full comparison. How do I wash and care for the Dot wig? Wash the Dot by Ellen Wille every 10–15 wears using a gentle wig shampoo and cool water. Submerge, swish lightly, rinse thoroughly, and never wring or twist the fibers. Apply a lightweight wig conditioner, then allow it to air dry on a wig stand to preserve the wavy-curly texture and shape. Avoid brushing while wet — use a wide-tooth comb or pick once dry to maintain the soft layers. How long will the Dot by Ellen Wille last with proper care? With consistent, gentle care, the Dot by Ellen Wille typically lasts 4–6 months with daily wear, or up to 12 months or longer with occasional use. Synthetic wigs like the Dot maintain their style well but are more sensitive to friction, heat, and harsh products. Storing it on a wig stand, hand-washing only, and keeping it away from direct sunlight will significantly extend the life of the style. Is the Dot by Ellen Wille suitable for hair loss or medical hair loss conditions? Yes, the Dot by Ellen Wille is a suitable option for those experiencing hair loss. The mono crown construction mimics a natural hair growth pattern and provides a realistic look at the part area, while adjustable straps offer a secure, comfortable fit. The lightweight 2 oz. design reduces scalp pressure, making it a gentle choice for sensitive scalps. As always, consulting with your care provider about cap comfort for your specific condition is recommended.
